Someone sorting through donated items for the upcoming Father Fred Garage Sale found a deer skin with the name of volunteer coordinator Sue Bauer's father attached on a tag. She says the deer was shot by her father around 1955 in the Grand Rapids area, but she doesn't remember ever seeing it at home.

Money raised at the event goes to offset fuel costs, which currently runs around $6.90 a gallon. Six Wings of Mercy pilots and their planes were on hand, as well as Northflight EMS and representatives from Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City. The organization has flown about 3,000 flights over the past 20 years.
