Each candidate had eight minutes to complete tasks including carrying fire hoses up flights of stairs, carrying and climbing ladders and finding and dragging a 125 pound dummy through a dark basement, all while wearing 65 pounds of firefighting gear. Candidates also had to pass a written exam on Saturday morning to be considered for the job.
