Cub Scouts from the four dens of Grand Traverse Area Pack 31 watch their annual Pinewood Derby Saturday in the hanger at U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City. The 61 scouts received their kits during the pack's Christmas party in December, and had a chance to use the air station's wood shop and knowledgeable service members to cut their cars out of a block of wood. Each den raced four times, once on each lane of the track, with winners heading to the district derby on March 13. Ryan Quandt (cq) set the track record with a time of 3.015 seconds.
