Ray Walenter, left, hands a wooden desk leg to his stepson, Tom Stebbins, both of Interlochen, as Stebbins assembles the desk in the building at the northeast corner of Cass Street and Front Street in Traverse City Wednesday, February, 27, 2013 as preparations are made for Goodwill's Reinvention Convention art sale and competition. A gala for the event is scheduled for Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with tickets costing $30. A public viewing is scheduled for Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The art pieces are made using store items from Goodwill. The desk is in the name of Walenter's wife, Nancy Walenter, who did the wood burning. Ray Walenter used a scroll saw on the desk's wooden baskets while Stebbins stained, sanded and assembled the desk.
