Replica sloop the The Welcome became part of the Maritime Hertiage Alliance
in 1992. The Welcome is Replica of a British ship built in 1774, to serve in a fleet of trading vessels. It last Later used in the Seven Year's war from 1756-1763. British military bought the ship in 1778 and converted it to an armed sloop. In Lake 1781 the orginial Welcome was lost in the straits of Machinaw. Photography by Peggy Zinn
